It's A Wonderful Life!

A wonderful Christmas was had by all!!!!!

We opened presents for what seemed like forever. We had a pile of wrapping paper on the floor. Shannon decided she would dive in. We call her the Wrapping Shannon.

Here is a pic of Eddie opening a present. Doesn't he look just like a little kid. I love this pic of him.

I think Brandon enjoyed his presents. He opened the "Where's Gary" Spongebob DVD.

Listen up good! I got the Picture Mate Personal Photo Lab! Oh Joy! And I also got an Old Fashioned Kettle Popcorn Maker. I got some smelly stuff from Shannon and books, lots of books. (Smile!!!)

Jeannie and Chad got gift cards. I think they liked them. They can use them to buy stuff for the new house they are starting to build.

Extended Family Christmas Get-Together

I traveled to Birmingham on Friday morning to have lunch with some friends from my old office and visit with them before heading to my brother's house that evening. Susan, Ellen, and I ate lunch at O'Charley's where my daughter is a server. We had a very nice lunch and I was able to see Shannon as well. Ellen went back to work and Susan and I headed all over town doing some Christmas shopping.

Susan brought me back to my truck around four in the afternoon because she had a Christmas party to go to that evening and I headed for Don's. The minute I got to Don's we had to go pick his wife up from work. We came back home and had dinner and then Brenda and I went to Publix to pick up more food stuff for the Christmas party on Saturday night.

I didn't sleep very good and was up early the following morning. I made a batch of fudge with nuts that turned out perfect without even having to use a candy thermometer. So I was in high spirits. Brenda and I made sausage balls, a chicken ball, potato salad, baked beans, and a ham. She had a friend of hers make a fried turkey. The second batch of fudge I tried to make without nuts didn't turn out so good, it was more like "spoon" fudge, did not harden. I guess I got to impatient.

I then took Sarah to meet my other brother and his family at Ruby Tuesday's to celebrate my niece, Kaitlyn's 10th birthday. After lunch, they all went to see Chicken Little and I went back to my brother's house. Brenda and I finished preparing everything for the party that evening.

Everyone showed up on time and we had a feast of food. After eating we let the kids open their presents and play for a while so we could let our food digest before the "Dirty Santa" game began. If you have ever been around my family when we play "Dirty Santa," just suffice it to say things can get rough and hairy. We don't mind stealing each other's ornaments. The "hot" items this year was a Star Wars R2D2, a translucent sequin ball, and a Seraphim angel ornament. Honorable mention has to be given to the fuzzy pink flamingo with ruby slippers, but we decided not to take it away from my niece Lauryn when she started squawling her eyes out.

I spend Saturday night surrounded by my family, literally. My brother Chris and his wife and three kids stayed at Don's with me, Don, Brenda, and Sarah. I slept on the couch and didn't fare none the better than I did on Friday night.

Chris and his family left early Sunday to go to church and my brother Don took the day off from work to spend with me. We went to Jim and Nick's to eat lunch and then went to visit my mother's grave. Afterward I drove home. I was glad to be home and see Eddie.

I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and Christmas is not even here yet.

Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as Santa Claus...

Anniversary dinner at SmokeyBones

Eddie and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary with his daughter, Jeannie, his son-in-law, Chad, and his grandson, Brandon. We went to SmokeyBones Barbeque and Grill.

Jeannie and Chad graciously paid for our meal in honor of our anniversary. I thought that was so nice. After we got through eating, the men's horse play kinda got outta hand, as you will see in the next few shots.

Chad was making a face in this one because Brandon was taking the picture and he wanted to make Brandon laugh.

This pic really needs no caption, but I will say that this is Eddie's version of a corn cob pipe (literally)! The next pic is of Eddie and I (notice how I look white as a sheet next to my Indian husband).

And finally a pic of Brandon. I had a wonderful time, the only thing that would have made it more perfect, is if my daughter, Shannon could have been there too!

Fudge and Brownies

I started making my Christmas goodies. Thursday is the office party and Saturday is my family party.

I made one batch of fudge and one batch of brownies for Eddie. He said fudge is too sweet for him, so he always asks me to make him some brownies. I am going to make another batch of brownies, some sausage balls, divinity, and fudge for our work party.

I might make a cheese ball for the family party, but I am supposed to bring rolls, plates, napkins, and fudge. We do a casual dinner with ham and potato salad for the Christmas meal so we can play "Dirty Santa."

I am going to take off Friday and come to Birmingham early since Eddie is not coming with me. I have made plans to have lunch with Ellen and Susan and then spend the night Friday and Saturday night with my brother, Don, his wife, Brenda, and their daughter, Sarah.

I can spend more time on the food stuff since I am through with shopping and wrapping.

Tomorrow is Eddie's and my second anniversary. We are going to Smokey Bones to celebrate. Eddie got me a present and a card. I bet it is not a mushy, romantic card, I am almost positive it will be a funny card. But at least I am getting a card and present and taken out to eat. I am impressed.

So, I will be posting pictures on Tuesday of my anniversary dinner. See you then...

Trimming the tree!

Here are some pictures of Eddie and I trimming the 2005 Christmas tree. First, is a picture of the two of us trimmed out in our Christmas colors.

The next two pic's are of the tree as it stands in Shannon's room after trimming and decorating with all the presents.

Here is the cover of my new book

Forever Odd

I got my new Dean Koontz book today, so don't expect me to blog for a couple of days, while I begin and finish reading my favorite author.

I am so excited that I can't even think of anything else to write.

Take care 'til I post again...

Birthday Celebration at O'Charley's

We celebrated Shannon's birthday and Chad's (Eddie's son-in-law) birthday at O'Charley's last night. Chad's birthday is today the fourth and Shannon's is the fifth. 20 years ago I was in labor with Shannon right now, she wasn't born until 12:23a.m. They wouldn't give me any medications so it was a little rough. My mother was there to keep me sane.

Here are a few of the pictures I took last night. Shannon enjoyed opening her presents. Here is a keyring that Eddie and I gave her.

Eddie and I gave Chad a card and some money. Here is a pic of Jeannie and Chad reading his card. Brandon (Eddie's grandson) was with his dad and not able to come celebrate with us.

Of course, Eddie and I enjoyed ourselves with our family as we always do.

Shannon is here

Shannon turned in the drive about 25 minutes ago. Eddie and I were outside burning some boxes. She brought in Christmas presents and her bag of clothes for the weekend. We are going out tomorrow night to celebrate her birthday. I think we are going to Up-The_Creek or somewhere like that. I will let you know.

I guess we will head to Greenville, AL, tomorrow to the Super Wal-Mart to get a few Christmas ornaments AND I DO MEAN CHRISTMAS, NOT HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS!!!

I may not post tomorrow since we will be out and about for a while, but I will post on Sunday with pictures of the birthday celebration.

Have a great weekend.

I don't know if I am bored or just boring

I absolutely have nothing to blog.

Does that mean that I am bored with life or is it that I am just boring? We have picked up pecans everyday this week. I have wrapped almost all my Christmas gifts. I feel as if I am in a rut. A good rut, but a rut nonetheless.

The only thing exciting coming up is that my daughter is coming to visit this weekend for her birthday. She will be 20 on December 5th. That is not exciting to me at all. It makes me 20 years older than I was when she was born.

Eddie and I watch television every night or either read. The weather is not conducive to doing things outside so we are somewhat limited in what we can do. I check my e-mails and blog pages daily, but I still feel a little bit out of touch.

I hope I get out of this melancholy mood. I don't like feeling this way.

I need a little pick-me-up...

This is my television night

Tonight "Surface" and "Medium" are both on, two of my favorite shows this season. I can't wait until 7:00p.m. If you have not seen "Surface", I would suggest you watch it. I have taped all episodes. We are gonna "Subway" it so we can spend our time watching the shows.

I wrapped some presents this afternoon after I got finished with work. I need to get some name tags before I forget which presents are for whom. I may make some on the computer.

My dear daughter called to tell me that there was severe weather in her neck of the woods. She said that her and Will saw a tornado on the way home from work. She has a very healthy fear of tornados, so I'm sure Will got the brunt of her phobia this afternoon.

Here we go 'round in circles...

What are rainy mornings good for?

Rainy mornings are good for sleeping-in late; having a leisurely breakfast of sausage, grits, and biscuits with your wonderful husband; talking with your only child by phone (since she is not living with me right now); and Christmas shopping online.

Oh what joy it is for me, getting all my shopping done while never stepping foot in a retail store or mall. That is an early Christmas present for me. I know I sound crazy, whoever heard of a woman who does not like to shop. Well I am that woman.

Other than getting a couple of gift cards at Home Depot, a $10 gift card from Blockbuster (for the "dirty" Santa gift game for work), and ordering a couple more things for my daughter on-line, I am finished with everything, except the wrapping.

Eddie is out in the shop finishing up on staining the corner cabinet. Then we are gonna start making the mantel for our fireplace. So I guess I had better go and see what he is up to.

Happy raindrops...

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Last night I dreamed over and over about having a blizzard over Christmas. It was a lot of snow and ice and everyone was socked in. I really would not like to see that happen, because of people traveling and possible motor vehicle accidents.

I hope my dreams were not a premonition of things to come. With all the weather events that we have already had this year (Katrina, Wilma, mudslides, floods, fires, etc.), we really don't need anything else to happen, but it might be fun to tromp around in the snow. It's been a long time since I have been involved in a big snow. The last time we had a big snow I was living in Kentucky.

A few pretty snowflakes would suit me just fine...

Turkey Day and Black Friday

Eddie and I spent a very quiet day today together. We picked up pecans and played around setting up some of his tools in his shop.

I was going to make a turkey breast and some mac-n-cheese, but Eddie had put the turkey in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator instead of in the regular part of the refrigerator and it was still frozen, when I went in there to get it out to cook.

We decided to just make taco salad, but we are very thankful for it.

I go to work tomorrow and Eddie will finish up on the corner cabinet he has been making. He said that he might start on our mantel for the fireplace tomorrow. Anyway, we will not be going shopping that's for sure. To all of you that are planning on going out tomorrow, please be careful and good luck finding those elusive bargains you are searching for.

Happy Gobbling and Happy Shopping...

WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?

I am thankful for my hubby, my daughter, my family, my friends, my health, my animals, my job, enough money to pay my bills, my new truck, and a warm house because it is somewhat chilly tonight. I am thankful for living in a country that allows me to believe in God and worship Him. There are many other every day things that I am thankful for as well. Tell me what you are thankful for.

Early Thanskgiving!

Eddie and I are soon to be driving to Birmingham this morning (around 9:30a.m.). We are headed to my brother and sister-in-law's for an early Thanksgiving.

Yesterday, I prepared stuffed celery, sweet potato casserole, and a congealed salad. Eddie made two pecan pies and Shannon (in Birmingham) made a 4 layer chocolate delight. Several of the other family members are making or brining some things, but my sister-in-law Brenda has the bulk of the cooking on her. Since my mom passed away and I moved out of town, the burden for the holiday get-togethers has fallen on Don and Brenda's shoulders because Chris and his family live out of town too. The central location for all of us to meet is at Don and B's.

I want to thank Don and B for going to all the trouble of having all of us pile in on them. I know it is hard work to clean the house and cook for 15 to 20 people. I am very thankful to have my wonderful family. We may not see each other as often as we did in the past, but I know they are there for me and I hope they know the same can be said of me (that I am always there for them).

Sitting here this morning, thinking of all the wonderful people in my life, I realize I am truly blessed. Thank you God, for placing these people in my life. I love each and every one of them.

Here are some pictures of my fireplace in progress

Eddie still has to put down the tile and build the mantle, so I can't wait 'til it is finished, but for now I am happy that we can have a fire. Tomorrow I will post more pictures of the workshop. He finished up on it today, but I got home after dark and was not able to take any pictures.

So until tomorrow...

The Workshop in Progress

The shop should be finished in a couple of days. Then Eddie can put all of his tools and equipment in the shop. He wants to start making small wooden projects to sell like birdhouses, mailboxes, wooden toys, shelves, etc. He can make mantels, bookends and more. Hopefully he will get some orders and get an assembly line process in place and start making some money.

My baby girl and her beau

Here is a pic of Shannon and Will that I took while they were here this weekend.

We had a good time except for Shannon getting a flat tire, but luckily she had a full-size spare and Eddie was able to change the tire for her. She was then able to drive back home with no problem.

We watched the game (which was not good) and visited and had a good time. Eddie and I enjoyed their visit.

I am bummed, my team lost

ROLL TIDE ANYWAY! LSU just played a little better than we did. Now we are looking to next week against Auburn.

Shannon and her guy are here. I made roasted Porkloin, homemade mac-n-cheese, peas, corn on the cob, sweet potato patties (with butter, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pecans), and mashed potatoes. Yeah don't say anything about the amount of starches mentioned, but Will doesn't like anything green, so I made what he liked, Shannon liked, and Eddie liked.

I went and got my flu shot today and I feel like I have the mini-flu and my arm is very sore, but it is worth it. If I can keep from getting the full fledged flu I will be doing good. It is not a good thing with my diabetes to come down with the flu.

I will go for now, have a great weekend.

The beauty of a woman...

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

Author ~Audrey Hepburn~

Okay, here we go...I believe this is the start of the holiday rush

I got an e-mail regarding "the friend's" christmas party, and my sister-in-law called about Thanksgiving. My daughter is coming down this weekend which means I have to clean, clean, clean on my day off tomorrow, because she is bringing her "boyfriend," Will. I parenthesized boyfriend, because from what I hear he is a lot more than that. My baby girl went looking at ENGAGEMENT RINGS last night. What is that all about, it was just yesterday she was playing with dolls and thought boys were dumb. I am getting old, very old.

I have ordered most of my Christmas gifts online. I have a few more to get, but I am not going to be rushed this season.

Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays!

Materials for the shop arrived

We will have the shop finished by Thanksgiving. The materials arrived to day and Eddie is ready to start it up. Then he will be able to put all his tools inside and build cabinets and such out of the weather. He makes wonderful wood items. Above is a pair of bookends he made his mother.

I talked with my brother Chris today. He updated me on how the Guwin Clarks are getting by. I am glad they are all doing okay. My two nieces and my nephew were all Darth Vader for Halloween. I can't wait to see pictures. LOL

I also talked with my sister-in-law, Brenda for a couple of seconds she had to go take care of a bank customer. She was wanting to talk about Thanksgiving plans. We need to lock down a date for all the families to be there.

Shannon also called just to say Hi. She and her boyfriend are headed this way this weekend.
So I will be cleaning house until they arrive. LOL

I am going to watch The Ring Two, have a good night.

I am sick of pecans and we haven't really gotten started yet.

I have picked, cracked, and shelled pecans so much that my hands are aching. This is just from the two 5 gallon buckets I mentioned in an earlier post. We have bagged 10 pounds of pecans. I have no idea how many more buckets we will pick up and how many pounds of shelled pecans that will be.

I guess all the news about family having babies made me have a dream I was pregnant. When I told Eddie, he looked as if he was going to faint. He said that luckily for the both of us, we both are not able to have any more kids. He said he was way too old for that.

I have to go write bills, so I will close for now.

Our Netflix Movie DVD, "The Ring, Two" did not arrive

The picture is of the completed slab for the foundation of our shop.

Netflix reported they mailed it on Friday, the fourth and we should have received it on Saturday. I waited 'til today to see if it would come in the mail today, but it didn't. So I notified Netflix and they said they would promptly mail me a replacement. We couldn't have watched it tonight anyway, because this is "Surface" night. Because last Monday was Halloween, they showed three episodes of "Medium" instead of "Surface," "Vegas," and "Medium," so I have been craving the next episode all week. I even have Eddie hooked on the show. He does not watch regular television due to all the commercials, so for him to be watching this with commercials is HUGE! (I hope I spelled that right since I took the trouble to capitalize and bold it. LOL) It means he likes the show as much as I do and that is saying a lot.

I have to retract some of my rant from yesterday. The man did not actually steal the pecan picker upper, he left it under one of the trees by the big house, and just think I was ready to send him "up the river" to the "Big House." LOL I guess it is a small town with small town ways. I am just gonna have to "adjust."

Eddie and I both worked from home today, me at the computer and him outside "sawing logs," that's what I say he is doing when he is using the planer ripping down wood for a job. No he does not sleep on the job, he is a very conscientious worker hardly even stopping for breaks.

I will say goodnight now in preparation of my television show...

I am totally flabbergasted!!!

We had a guy drive up to the house this morning, I guess maybe he was just being nosey. He started talking to Eddie about the shop, the fireplace, the gazebo, and the pecan trees. He picked up our pecan picker upper asking Eddie how to use it, then asked Eddie if he could pick up a handful of pecans. Eddie told him he could and the guy drove down to the other house and picked up some pecans, I don't know how many he picked up, but he left with our pecan picker upper. It cost over $15.00. Eddie doesn't even know his name, but he does know where he lives. We are going over there to get our pecan tool.

Then a little while later a lady down the street (that says she's kin to Eddie in some long drawn out way) calls to ask if she can come over and pick up a handful of pecans to make a pecan pie. I guess she saw the other guy picking up some. I made up an excuse and told her that the pecans were not that good yet, the ones that have fallen are dark and dry. I told her the good ones have not fallen off the trees yet. I didn't know what else to say. I didn't want to be mean, but I can just see her whole family over in the yard picking up pecans and who knows what else, when we are not at home. Eddie leaves small to large tools out for anybody to just come by and take away. I have told him as soon as we get the shop built, all of his tools need to go in it and be locked up. I know we are in the country and it's different than living in the city, but I can't help but question why a guy would just appear on our doorstop asking about everything. The audacity of the people around here get to me. I want to be neighborly and friendly, but I have never heard of such.

I told Eddie I actually think the guy was over here "casing the joint." If anything goes missing, I wouldn't put it past him to have stolen it. Eddie's mad at me because I guess he thinks I was questioning his judgment about letting the guy come on the property and look around like he did.

Oh well, I am P-picking mad now (the P stands for pecans)...

A win, is a win, is a win!

ROLLLLLLLLL TIIIIIDE!!!!!!! A shut out it was (17-0). A great game for the offense it wasn't. Lost the Center to a leg fracture and Brodie looked a little confused, but the defense pulled us through. Way to go D-Fence!!!!! And as I was saying a win, is a win, is a win, no matter how you slice it. Alabama 9-0 for the season.

On another note, we are going out tonight to Outback to celebrate Eddie's daughter's birthday which is officially tomorrow, but we are celebrating tonight. So hopefully I will have some pictures. Eddie is drying his hair now and we will be leaving shortly.

I went and had my hair foiled and cut today. I think it looks nice, I will try to get a picture to post and show everybody.

That is all the news from LA (lower Alabama). TTFN WBL (Ta-Ta For Now Will Blog Later)...

It is my neice's birthday today! Happy Birthday Rachael

Happy Birthday to Rachael! If I added correctly she is turning 27. I still remember driving to Mississippi to see her when she was born. She was my 1st neice and she has always held a special place in my heart, not to mention that she is beautiful inside and out.

Rachael shares this birthday with my 1st great neice, Avery, who turns two today. I would post a photo of her, but all the photo's I have of her are outdated. I need to get a recent photo of her to post as well.

Can you believe I have three great neices and one on the way. I also have a neice or nephew on the way. So new babies are coming, more kisses and hugs to go around.

Two topics for discussion

First, the slab for the shop has been finished. I got home after dark so I was not able to take a pic to post on the blog, but I will get one tomorrow or this weekend.

Second, I went to Lowe's today and set up for them to come get the Husqvarna lawn tractor and reimburse me the money I purchased it with. They are to come pick it up on Tuesday. So, I am now satisfied from the results of all this turmoil, but it took from March until November to get it done. I hope to buy one of those ZTR lawn mowers.

So I am in a good mood tonight. Hope the same can be said for you...

Nothing much happening around here

I worked from home today.

The guy who cuts the hay on our property was here today for the last time this year.

Eddie went to the Paulks to finish up on their cabinet job, because he will have to be here tomorrow when they deliver the concrete for the foundation of the shop.

A meat truck came by hoping to sell some steaks. He reported to have ribeyes $1.00/piece. I told him I did not want to buy any. Whoever heard of ribeyes for sale at $1.00/piece. If I had bought some, they would have either been too tough to eat or maybe they would have "mad cow disease." And I'm already too crazy as it is. LOL

Eddie almost ran over a cotton mouth (snake) on the way home. He backed up to see if it was dead. He said it was curled up and struck at the left front tire. We didn't do anything about it, because I don't think there is such a thing as anti-venom for Goodyears.

I guess I'll go watch The Food Network. We are having fish and chips tonight.

Happy Halloween III

I posted all these pictures to show everyone how my daughter has progressed from fairy tales to gothic horror over the years in her taste for Halloween costumes. She inherited her love of dress up on Halloween from me as you can see from the pictures.

The vampires are my daughter Shannon and her boyfriend Will. Then you can see pictures of me in costume as "Miss Piggy," and her side-kick "Kermit," "Cleopatra," "Witchy Poo," "Homey, the Clown," and "Mimi," from the Drew Carey Show. One of the pictures of Mimi was taken with "Rick and Bubba," the radio talk show hosts. The other pictures of Mimi are with my "ex" dressed as Drew Carey of course, and one with a host of goblins from work. Other costumes that I don't have pictures of, I dressed up as, "The Court Jester," "Dinner for Two," and "Scarlett O'Horror." Hope you like looking at all the pics.

Trick or Treat y'all...

Happy Halloween II (You must have known there would be a sequel)

Happy Halloween!

How did you spend your day today?

I spent my day picking up, cracking, and shelling pecans. Most of the pecans have not even fallen off the trees yet, and we have fifteen trees. I have picked up two 5 gallon buckets full under just two of the trees.

I understand that this is a good year for our pecan trees. I am going to try and keep up with how many buckets we pick up. There is a company nearby which put up signs at the end of the road noting that they would buy pecans. We may check into how much they will pay. A guy at the co-op told me that you can get up to 70 cents per pound unshelled/cracked. I think that would mean a good windfall, but I like to keep them. Good for cooking (especially fudge and divinity).

We are going to watch "Million Dollar Baby" tonight. We joined Netflix. I like it so far. For $9.99/month we get one movie at a time and we can keep the movie as long as we want with no late fee. Then when we send it back we get another movie from our queue. I have 48 movies in our queue. We try to watch the movie as soon as possible so we can see as many movies in the month as possible to get our money's worth. We are ordering pizza pie.

So here's pie in your eye...(pecan pie or pizza pie, take your choice)

Putting in a fireplace

Eddie is taking the vinyl siding off the front porch. He decided since natural gas prices were gonna be so high this winter, he was going to add a fireplace to our living room. So he's just outside prepping. We ordered a pre-fab and it came in this week.

Now a reminder, he still hasn't finished with the foundation for the shop or the gazebo. So I guess the old addage that says the carpenter's house is always the one that needs the most work is true. That's not totally the truth. He just needs to finish what he has started. I do agree with him that the fireplace should usurp the other two for priority since the temps are reaching down into the low 30's at night.

He promised me he would build me a beautiful mantle to go over the fireplace. I can't wait to see what he makes. He is very talented. The pictures of the mantle above is of one that he made for another couple's fireplace. I am very lucky to be married to my good 'ole country boy. He is my Superman, he can do anything. As Hank, Jr. sings "A Country Boy Can Survive," that fits Eddie to a tee. Yeah...

Lizard in the laundry room

I found a lizard in the laundry room or maybe I should say it found me. I can't decide who froze in one position for the longest amount of time, me or the lizard. It finally twitched it's tail, which threw me into high gear. Clothes went up in the air as I went flying out of the room, yelling for Eddie to come get the lizard. He leisurely walked in and picked it up by it's tail and took it outside. He said that he would not kill it because lizards kill bugs and that is a pet peeve of his, bugs!

I don't know why such a small scaly-skinned reptile can reek such havoc in my heart, but I somehow inevitably let the critters get to me. I am so glad Eddie was able to catch it, so now I can go wash the clothes. If he had not caught it, I might have had to start wearing dirty clothes. LOL (just kidding).

Another little drama in the life of...this 'ole country girl.

Hope you have a good evening.

It was chilly today and I think I might make some chili for supper

I think I will make some chili, it's that time of year for some good homemade chili. I like to pour my chili over some mashed potatoes and then top it off with cheddar cheese and oyster crackers.

I also like to pour my chili over Tostito chips with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese to make a taco salad, but I like to have that in the warmer months.

It was 31 degrees this morning at my house and only got up to about 66 today. So I have on my warm fuzzy house slippers, flannel pajama pants and long sleeved flannel pajama top. My pajamas have a snowmen print on them. And if you know me, you know how much I love snowmen.

I think I will go for now, because I have to go start making the chili. See all of you tomorrow.

Today is my dear hubby's birthday (55 years)

Eddie's daughter, her husband and son, my daughter, Eddie and I went to Longhorn's Steak House on Friday, October 21st, to celebrate his 55th birthday. We had a great time. Eddie got the Flo's Filet and Lobster Tail. He enjoyed his birthday, although he said this was the last one he was going to celebrate. Over the weekend, my daughter visited and we enjoyed her being here. I also had a flare-up of my back problems and was not really up to blogging. So this blog is to catch you up on the events of my life since last Wednesday. Hope all of you have had a good week. I'll blog again tomorrow.

Stuck in the middle with you

Here it is right smack dab in the middle of the week and I am stuck in the middle of it with you.

Maybe not stuck, but we can't do a thing to change it.

I guess right now I am counting my blessings that I will not be in South Florida come this Saturday when Hurricane Wilma comes through.

I wish I could have gone somewhere and bought some powerball tickets for the $340 million. I can't imagine what I would possibly do with $340 million, but I sure know what I wouldn't do. I wouldn't have to work anymore. I wouldn't have to worry about paying bills. I wouldn't have to cook/clean house, because I would hire a full-time chef and maid.

I think Eddie and I would go on a honeymoon vacation. If I could get him to go, we might even go to Australia.

Oh well, I will try to wake up from this pipe dream.

I'll just stay stuck in the middle with you...

Not Feeling Well

I am not feeling so good today. I either have a stomach bug or a touch of food poisoning. I hope it goes away soon.

Because of feeling like this, I really don't have much to say.

Eddie is installing the cabinets he built at the customer's house this week. He is also involved in getting the foundation and slab done for the shop. So he is busy. He is still outside with the guy who hauled in a load of dirt for him. Eddie really knows how to barter and trade. I like his style.

I will go for now, keep me in your thoughts and prayers that I quickly get over this temporary illness.

See ya...

Monday! Monday!

Well, I am not the Mama's and the Papa's, but I am a momma. I guess that is my claim to fame.

Today was an ordinary work day. After I finished working, I went to Wal-Mart. I got back just in time to watch Surface, my current favorite TV show. It was really good tonight, but the previews for next week were awesome.

I am gonna go for now, because my supper is ready and after that, Eddie and I are going to go gaze at the full moon.

Until Tuesday...

Just Chillin'

Today was a very laid back day. I spent the day reading a book, watching television, washing some clothes and taking a nap.

Eddie and I are watching The Food Network. It seems to be our favorite at the moment.

We plan to make some chicken for supper. I like it that he can cook and helps me prepare our meals. Our kitchen is very small, we hope to expand soon, but right now we work well together in our small kitchen. It is very cozy for the two of us.

I commented to a couple of posts on my daughter's MySpace.com blog today and also commented on her boyfriend's blog as well, so now I have a new way of contacting them.

My daughter is supposed to be visiting Eddie and I this coming up weekend. This is a reminder hint for her. She is supposed to take care of work so they will let her have this weekend off. She is coming down to help me celebrate Eddie's birthday. His birthday is not until October 25th, but this is the weekend before, so that is the best we can do. I hope to get him to go out to dinner with his daughter and her family, Shannon and I. I also hope to get some good pictures to post.

Well it is getting dark down here, so I need to go get the dogs in. It's time to start on supper as well.

So, this is one day in the life of...

I am actually scrappin'!!!!

Above is the scrap-page I have completed so far. I am not gonna post too much, because I want to get back in my scrap room while I have the creative juices flowing. I just wanted you to see what I had accomplished so far. A friend of mine would say that my MOJO is back. I really didn't know I had lost it, but the way I feel right now, I guess I had misplaced it. LOL Boy howdy, it is back with a vengeance!

The pic above is of my sweet baby girl. She won the pink panther in a raffle when we lived out in San Antonio, Texas. The girl is the apple of my eye. I love her so and yes she is the most beautiful girl in all the world. She is my beautiful little sweetie pea. However, she is not that little anymore. Sigh! She is all grown up.

P.S. (ROLLLLLLLL TIDE!)
