My little old 85-year-old across the street neighbor

Ms. Dot:

I take her food and she toddles over to visit me when she sees me in the yard. We go to church together sometimes and we gossip about the other not-so-nice neighbors. She keeps me company and I keep her company. We laugh together and share a comraderie close to kinship. She is the bestest neighbor I have ever had. She makes me smile.

There's something special about octogenarians isn't there. My mother is 87 and is in the 'mild to moderate' stage of Alzheimers. She has always had a good sense of humor and joy in her family. It's sad to see this diminish, to the point where she has a hard time remembering her grandchildren and great-grands. Treasure your sweet neighbour. I miss the person my mother used to be.

I'm going to have to get out and meet people in our new neighborhood. I adore old people! Your neighbor looks so sweet, and you are awesome for being her buddy. Most senior citizens so badly want someone to talk to!

Aren't older people just the best. Ms Dot looks so sweet ........
I love hearing stories older people have to tell of days long ago.
