Splenda-sweetened, decaffienated tea is just tea-flavored caramel colored water to me!

I mentioned sweet tea in my yesterday's blog. My mom made the best iced sweet tea.
I could drink gallons of it and it never seemed to make me hyper or keep me awake when I was younger.
I have been reminiscing about it for the past few hours since my last post, so I made me some, but post-GBS, my doctor recommended (demanded)
that I drink no caffiene. Therefore, I made Splenda-sweetened, decaffienated tea. Since I can't have carbonated drinks and I can't have sugars, the Splenda tea is my only source of liquid other than water,
but now that I think about it, it's just like my water, only tastes different.

Here is my whine for the day; I miss milk,
I miss orange Hi-C,
I miss Icee's/Slushies,
and I miss Coke,
but notice I didn't say I miss the whine.

Except for the milk, don't you feel so much healthier??? Keep your eye on the prize...the goal...the prize. I need to lose 20 lbs, but can't seem to get motivated. I printed off some American Diabetic Association stuff...because the constant carb diet is fairly healthy and it is possible to lose weight on it...but then I have to read lables and add...which requires using math skills and two brain cells. Haha.

No I didn't go on vacation...I worked the weekend...except I got called off on Sat., but not the same as a day off as I was on call and had to be ready to go at a moment's notice...and I didn't feel too good...I had a headache (we think it has something to do with the mold on the floor in the laundry room, that we didn't know about until Dave pulled the floor up to start replacing...I swear he released the spores...and he and I have had monster headaches since).

We do plan a mini trip in Oct. My oldest son is graduating from the police academy in Austin, Texas and they are having the ceremony at the capitol building...I am going. We are already getting excited.

I think I'd lose my mind with out tea, but then I drink sweet n low in it, so that's not too bad. I found your blog via SITS and I love it! Keep up the good work on meeting your weight loss goals. I am just begining to confront my obesity and it's a rough road. Have a great day!

You don't drink milk?! Milk is my crack, I drink so much organic fat free milk I'll probably start mooing soon.
That, water, and the occasional glass of wine are the only things I drink. I kicked a major Diet Pepsi addiction pre-WLS. I do still miss it sometimes.

Not sure I could live without coke zero and diet dr. pepper. I remember when I was first diagnosed with Diabetes. I was in mourning for my real coke. Now that I am stable, I tried one a while ago. Doesn't even taste right. So maybe, sweet tea really doesn't taste good anyway and you aren't missing anything.
